Supporting Student Learning

This dimension of the teaching profession entails considering ways to support the learning of diverse students (spanning supports such as planning, instruction and engagement, and assessment). Specifically, this dimension includes the ability to:

  • Plan to engage all students
  • Construct plans that build upon what students already know and can do
  • Engage students in a variety of ways with content
  • Provide students access to a variety of ways to demonstrate what they know and can do.
  • Align learning targets with assessments in various ways.
  • Document evidence of my pedagogical content knowledge
  • Plan in a way that demonstrates theoretical understandings
