Knowing Schools and Society

This dimension of the teaching profession focuses on a deep understanding of schools as contexts, including, for example, constraints and opportunities within schools, differences between schools and why these differences are significant. Specifically, this dimension includes:

  • How I articulate how teaching differs between schools, and why.
  • My understanding of the constraints and opportunities evident in the schools in which they’re teaching.
  • My understanding of the connections between planning and the communities served by different schools.
